Things on the Up and Up
I am glad to report that things are finally getting better for Jason and I. Most of our problems have been resolved and depleted. The cable deal has been straightened out and our dispute for almost 300 bucks for adult movies has been approved and we are not going to have to pay for that which is nice considering we never ordered them in the first place. I am convinced that it was an inside job and someone working there was doing it, awful funny that they seemed to not believe us but at the same time they are waiving the charges, I think that they know more than they are leading on, but oh well we are good to go there. Our central air has finally been fixed, despite having about 10 days of about 100 degrees before that. We have been loving that though lately let me tell you!
The situation with our bank account is about 98% completed. Not sure what is happening with the investigation or anything but the bank was very helpful in getting everything taken care of for us. Bank at Sky Bank (that's for you Erin) they were more than helpful in helping us resolve that situation.
The best news of the weekend though was that Jason got a hole in 1 on Saturday playing golf. He was playing with Jeremy in Wauseon on a course called Ironwood. He was on hole 6 which is a par 3 and drove it 157 yards to victory. Needless to say he was a tad bit excited. See the pictures on his website. www.amantheycallraiker.blogspot.com
So after quite a string of bad luck things are starting to get better for us. Hope that everyone is doing well!

Time Flies
Hard to believe we are halfway through the month of July, almost August already. This year is flying for sure. Jason and I had a good time celebrating our one year anniversary on the murder mystery train ride. Monday was a good day for us as well, we finally got our air conditioner fixed, thank goodness, better late than never that is for sure! Although, they were supposed to clean it for us and he just happened to forget and was supposed to come back yesterday, of course he didn't and he never called to say he wasn't going to be there. Good way to run a business huh? That is the crap we have been dealing with lately. But in the end we always come through and conquer what needs to be done and luckily Jason and I have each other to get this stuff dealt with together. This weekend is about the only weekend we have had free in quite some time. We do have a cookout to go to on Saturday and are letting our neighbors dog out, other than that relax-ation. Which that really means getting stuff done around the house. Well I hope that everyone is doing well and having a great summer!

1st year is the hardest...I'll Say!
Just kidding Jason. Well this Sunday is our one year anniversary. I know it is hard to believe huh? The time has gone so fast. Everyone says that the first year is always the hardest, well if that is the case I am positive that Jason and I will have nothing to worry about. We have had a lot go on the past year and despite it all we have always managed to come out and work together to get the problem resolved. We went through a job change and bought a house in that time so that in and of itself are two pretty big changes. We will be just fine. I can say that we are good together and that no matter what comes up we will always be able to compromise and reslove the situation. The past 2 months we have had nothing but bad luck, but here we still are able to laugh and move on from the stressful situations after dealing with them together. I know with all this crap we have gone through lately that if we didn't have each other it would have been a lot worse for sure! So we are celebrating tomorrow going up to Blissfield MI to take a Murder Mystery Train Ride. Something that neither of us have ever done ,but sounds like something that will be a lot of fun! Check it out.

Hope everyone is doing well!

And So it Continues.....
Here is our newest problem. Although, we opened a new account and have gotten all our money back. I used to try and find good in all people, the older I get the more I realize that sometimes you can't do that. Too bad though. Go with your gut instinct and don't totally trust anyone, because obviously these days you can't.
TOLEDO -- Here's a Call 11 for Action alert you can't afford to miss: Toledo police are searching for scam artists who are making thousands of dollars off homeowners by soliciting simple services.
The crooks are painting address numbers on homeowner's curbs. It sounds legit, but some people who paid for the service with a check are getting ripped off -- and losing their entire savings.
Pamela Cubbon is someone who fell victim to the scam. "It has reflective paint and it really looks good," she told us, describing the numbers painted on her curb.
Pamela thought having the address painted where all could see it was a good idea, so she paid a stranger to provide the service. She says, "I did not have cash on me, so I gave him a check. He painted, and I looked at it -- and I gave him a check. That was on Wednesday."
One week later she realized what a mistake she made by paying with paper. What was just a $10.00 charge has ended up costing her much more. She showed Call 11 for Action a stack of checks -- all written on her account by the stranger.
For purchase after purchase, the stranger spent Pamela's hard-earned money. She showed us one check for $259.00, but that was just part of a much bigger problem. The grand total came to more than $6,000 that was drained from Pamela's account.
Among the items the culprit bought were iPods, flat screen TVs, and numerous gift cards. And she's not the only one victimized by this scam. So far, four families have been hit -- and there's no telling how many checks are out there, or who this crook will target next.
Pamela described a guy who appeared to be all business. "He has a clipboard, and he comes around with a black knapsack with his numbers and his paint," she said. She also said that he does not drive a vehicle; he arrives on foot. In her case, he was alone, but others have reported that he had a partner. Once it was an African-America partner, another time it was a white man.
Toledo Police Detective David Morford told Call 11 for Action, "These people take that check, use the numbers off the bottom, and commit their crimes."
"I didn't know it was that easy," Pamela said.
Detective Morford says it happens more than you think. It's up to you to protect yourself. "Be careful with your personal information," he said. "Do not let it out there. Don't just give it out --especially to someone who's not reputable."
That's one piece of advice Pamela will never forget. "Don't write a check to someone you don't know," she warns.
The bottom line here is to be careful with your personal information. Checks aren't as harmless as they seem. You may also want to think twice about putting checks in your mailbox where they can be stolen. Doing something as simple as paying a bill can end up costing you big bucks.

Buyer Beware
Remember the eBay Ticket Scam? Mark West Speaks Only to News 11
WOOD COUNTY -- The Fostoria man accused of ripping off dozens of people in an eBay ticket scam remains in the Wood County Justice Center, awaiting trial. He's charged with theft and telecommunications fraud -- and, for the first time since his arrest in January, Mark West is speaking out and only to News 11.
West told us, "I give a sincere apology that it happened, but that wasn't the intent."
West sold tickets to one of the most anticipated football games in the area, "The Game," on the Internet. "The tickets were $799 plus $15 for shipping," said Greg Boring. Boring and many other football fans who reported paying good money for tickets they never received.
News 11 approached West at his Fostoria home the week of the game last year. At that time, he said many tickets had been mailed, but some were "slow" coming in. "I'm here really to clear the record so to speak," said West.
Many have questioned why -- that same week -- West left town without telling anyone, even his own wife. "I wasn't a fugitive," said West. He said, "there was no warrant when I left."
West said he received several death threats from angry football fans and feared for his life. "The one death threat came from a man that identified himself as a police officer from California, and he made no bones about it," said West.
West said all of his buyers have since been reimbursed by PayPal, the online payment service they used to purchase the tickets. "All the money that I took in for the last year of sales is accounted for. I spent just about the same amount in tickets," said West.
West's case is now up to a jury. A trial is scheduled for September 26th. In the meantime, West will remain behind bars. His bond is set at $200,000 -- something West has argued is "unconstitutional" for the crime.
"I've got a bond that murderers have, and I didn't kill anybody," said West.
