FRIDAY!
Well it is almost the weekend, and I know we are all looking forward to it. Tonight is a lazy night for Jason and I, I think much needed. I will probably do some stuff before we lounge but nothing too much. Jason will be up and at em early tomorrow morning to play a round of golf before we leave to go to a wedding in Michigan. Sunday will probably be a nice to day relax again, depending on the weather, I will try and get some more yard work done, and if it is raining I'm sure that I can find something to do indoors.
Some interesting figures for this Friday.
Did you know that ...
It is impossible to lick your elbow.
A crocodile can't stick its tongue out.A shrimp's heart is in their head.
When you sneeze, your heart stops for a millisecond.
It is physically impossible for pigs to look up into the sky.
More than 50% of the people in the world have never made or received a telephone call.
Rats and horses can't vomit.
100% of all lottery winners gain weight.
Thirty-five percent of the people who use personal ads for dating are already married.
A duck's quack doesn't echo, and no one knows why.
23% of all photocopier faults worldwide are caused by people sitting on them and photocopying their buttocks.
A hummingbird weighs less than a penny.
Like fingerprints, everyone's tongue print is different.

Funny
Nothing much to update you all on, same ole. My aunt Vic came up last night and we enjoyed a nice ladies night out, dinner and some shopping, can't beat it. Thought I would post a funny joke for you all to enjoy on this chilly Wednesday!
A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, observing his wife turning back and forth, looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off, he asked what she'd like to have for her birthday. I'd like to be six again, she replied, still looking in the mirror. On the morning of her birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Lucky Charms, and then took her to Six Flags What a day! He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster... everything there. Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. He then took her to a McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake. Then it was off to a movie, popcorn, a soda pop, and her favorite candy, M&M's. What a fabulous adventure! Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted. He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, Well Dear, what was it like being six again?? Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed. I meant my Dress Size, you dumb a** !!

Finally!
Well I haven't posted in a whole week, not by choice, I tried I believe at least 2 days and everything I wrote went kerplunk and my computer wouldn't save and update it. Who knows? Looks like I am good today. Well to sum up our weekend. Jason and his buddy Slim played some ps2 on Friday night in between watching the new wrestling channel Jason got and entertaining Tressel. I headed to Defiance and went out with a couple girls I used to work with, always good to see them! Saturday, my mom and I ran a garage sale and my Grampa's house. The weather cooperated and we had a good turn out. I think we made around 500 bucks total, so can't complain about that! Jason and I made about 100 bucks so we were happy. Saturday night we headed up to the spaghetti warehouse is downtown Toledo with our good friends Chad and Missi, then afterwards we enjoyed America's pastime watching the Toledo Mud Hens bring home a win. We always enjoy going to the games! We might get a package deal on a bunch of games. After the game they had a nice display of fireworks. Always neat to watch, brings out the kid in us all. Sunday, it was more yard work. As much time as we have been spending out there you would think we have a beautiful garden and display of plants, trees, and flowers, ha-ha far from it. But it is coming along and a couple of our neighbors have commented on far along we have come so that makes you feel good. Jason was quite ambitious, he cut up some wood, headed to the gym, and then came home and ran. Don't know what got into him :) Last night we cooked out some burgers, love our grill! :) Jason's mom is on a cruise this week, I know it's just awful for her huh? She called Sunday and Jason said she was sucking back on some margaritas and it was apparant by the way she was talking. Jason and I are getting geared up for our cruise, we leave in less than 1 month! Woo hoo! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Busy busy. Things are going well at the Raike household. Jason's mom is on a cruise right now, she called yesterday as she was sipping back some margaritas. Yeah we felt pretty sorry for her too. Friday night I went out with a couple of girls I used to work with, it is always good to visit with them and catch up. Saturday, mom and I ran a garage sale at my Grampa's. We did pretty good, I think we sold a total of like 500 bucks, so that is pretty good. Always nice to unload some junk and nice knowing people can use it. There is a lot left though so my mom is planning on opening it up again. That will give me time to go through some more stuff, mainly clothes, as we all know I have way too many. Satyurday night we headed downtown to the Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner with Chad and Missi, then headed over to the Mud Hens game. It was a perfect night to watch a game. The game was great, lots of hits and the Hens won. After the game, they had a nice fireworks display that we always enjoy watching. Yesterday, it was more yardwork. We got it in just in time before the rain started. It is coming along quite nicely. The bad thing is there is quite a bit more that needs done, but day by day, step by step, we are gaining on it. Our neighbors have even commented on how nice it is starting to look, that is a nice feeling. They are coming to get the leaves and some branches sometime this week, so that will help make it look better. We still have some junk to unload that the prior people left, so we are gaining on it. Jason was ambitious yesterday, he helped cut up some wood, went to the gym, then came home and ran. Tressel is good, Jason and Slim wore him out Friday night from the sounds of it, keeping him awake until 2 am, while they watched wrestling and played Ps2. He is quite the little entertainer. Hope that everyone is doing well and has a great start to the week!

Weather
We can't complain about the weather we've been having that is for sure. Gazing out my window yesterday here at work I thought it looked nice out, only to get off of work and just about get blown away. I wouldn't trade my window in though, it makes things a lot better. I can't see anything except for the sky and part of a tree, but it makes a world of a difference. It's the small things that make the world go round. I know that people are more pleasant when the weather is nice out. I personally feel better when the weather is nice, I think it's just human nature. TOday is really nice, so I am hoping to maybe get a bit of yard work done and let the pup run around and burn off some energy. Not much time to post today. Hope everyone is having a good week. Just remember if you are having a bad day, things can always get worse. And if you are having a good day/week, smile because they are contagious and it can help make someone's day! Besides, it makes people wonder what you are up to, which is my favorite reason. Keep em guessing :)

Easter Weekend
Jason and I had a good weekend. Friday our relax and do nothing night was everything we hoped that it would be. We rented Fun with Dick and Jane, it was alright, I was overly impressed. I laughed but it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. We played with Tressel outside for awhile to enjoy the nice weather! Saturday, Jason headed out before 6am to Defiance to play some golf with his two buddies Chad and Steve. Tressel and I headed out to Defiance at about 9 am and spent the day with the family. Jason came over after his round of golf. Tressel got to meet my parents huge german shepard, he was pretty afraid at first, I think he may have even peed on me a little when he saw him, but Coal is a BIG boy. After awhile though they got along really well and they even took a dip in the pond, yeah they were pretty nasty. Jason headed out with Tressel and went to our friends Steve and Erin's and I met him over there later. My brother, sister-in-law, and I did some technical support for my aunt, who I might mention didn't have her taxes done, yeah she's one of those people, ha-ha nah it worked out. We got her all set up and I even got her printing working which made me happy. Then they headed back to Columbus and I headed to Liberty Center to see the boys (Jason and Tressel). It was good seeing Steve and Erin again, their little boy Seth (10 months) is getting so big, he is even walking on his own. Tressel got to play with their dog Oz (yellow lab), so he got his fix on babies and big dogs. Yesterday, my little bro came up and helped me figure out what to do with my garden, I'm clueless when it comes to that stuff. We got some flowers planted and go the mulch down, well most of it, we didn't quite buy enough. It is looking pretty good though I must say. Well hopefully it warms up a little bit, but like the preacher said yesterday at church. We would appreciate the weather today a lot more if we didn't have Saturday's weather, that is so true, but we did get spoiled for sure. Hope everyone had a great Easter. Have a good Monday!

Beans Beans Good for your Heart
Well with Easter approaching, I think of family and eating. I know most of the time when we get together someone brings baked beans, I don't think that I've ever actually tried them, but I know that I don't like them. Anyways, I thought you would appreciate this joke. I think it is absolutely hillarious!
Baked Beans
One day I met a sweet gentleman and fell in love. When it became apparent that we would marry, I made the supreme sacrifice and gave up beans. Some months later, on my birthday, my car broke down on the way home from work. Since I lived in the countryside I called my husband and told him that I would be late because I had to walk home. On my way, I passed by a small diner and the odor of baked beans was more than I could stand. With miles to walk, I figured that I would walk off any ill effects by the time I reached home, so I stopped at the diner and before I knew it, I had consumed three large orders of bakedbeans. All the way home, I made sure that I released all the gas. Upon my arrival, my husband seemed excited to see me and exclaimed delightedly:"Darling I have a surprise for dinner tonight." He then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinner table. I took a seat and just as he was about to remove my blindfold, the telephone rang. He made me promise not to touch the blindfold until he returned and went to answer the call. The baked beans I had consumed were still affecting me and the pressure was becoming most unbearable, so while my husband was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my weight to one leg and let one go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a pulpwood mill. I took my napkin from my lap and fanned the air around me vigorously. Then, shifting to the other cheek, I ripped off three more. The stink was worse than cooked cabbage. Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room, I went on like this for another few minutes. The pleasure was indescribable. When eventually the telephone farewells signaled the end of my freedom, I quickly fanned the air a few more times with my napkin, placed it on my lap and folded my hands back on it feeling very relieved and pleased with myself. My face must have been the picture of innocence when my husband returned, apologizing for taking so long. He asked me if I had peeked through the blindfold, and I assured him I had not.At this point, he removed the blindfold, and twelve dinner guests seated around the table chorused: "Happy Birthday!"I fainted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What I would really like to know is, when she called her husband and told her what happened and that she was walking home, why didn't he come and pick her up! :)

WEIRD!
As the full moon approaches, set to appear tomorrow, things have been weird. Some people don't believe it, but I tell you it is true. I've seen it all first hand, the gravitational pull from the moon messes with people. Apparantly, it is rubbing off on Jason and I because we had some odd happenings yesterday. To you all, it will be nothing but I am going to tell you anyways. This was the first, not too big of a deal. A lady and I were talking here at work about Texas Roadhouse ( for those of you who don't know, this is our favorite place to eat), so I thought it sounded good and we hadn't eaten there in awhile so I left Jason a message at work and he called back and said it was very odd because he was thinking the same thing. We haven't been there in a couple of months and haven't really talked about it much, so nonetheless we decided to go. #2 bizarre happening. On our way home we were talking about Jason's friend Kenzy and playing on a softball team with him, blah blah blah. Not even probably 5 seconds (not making that up) I see Kenzy driving, and I was like there he is. Doesn't seem too strange to some, but him and his wife don't live in Toledo they just happened to be in town and like 2 minutes from our house. So we flagged them down and they came over to see the house. That was too weird. I don't know what kind of car he drove and have only seen his wife like once or twice so I wouldn't have recognized her, but since we were just talking about him it came about. How weird. Then this morning here at work, I was working on a case and my manager came up to me about a question about the same case on something I had done a couple of days ago, that instance alone would not have been strange but mixed with the other happenings, it has been odd around here. So we'll see what the rest of the day today brings and what happens tomorrow, but I'm telling you. The full moon does cause some sort of craziness, stuff you can't make up and you certainly can't explain, call it coincidence. Have a good normal day!

More leaves
Jason and I had a good weekend. Friday night was frozen pizza and rented movie night, as usual. Makes for a nice close to the week. Saturday, we did some running around in the morning then went to the Mud Hens game Saturday night. It was a little chilly but it is a really neat environment, if you ever get the chance to go you should. Really neat family oriented place. Sunday was a work day for me and a watch golf day for Jason. I raked more leaves, I didn't think that there could be anymore, but for about 4 hours I managed to find some. There is only one more spot to clean, but I was too whipped yesterday to finish it. Jason was able to watch his favorite golf tourney the Masters all day, he said he watched so much golf it gave him a headache, aww that is too bad :) The weekend came and went way too fast as usual. Hope everyone has a good start to the week!

Another one bites the dust
Well another week is quickly fading. Hard to believe how fast time flies. I didn't get time to post yesterday so I will update everyone on my hair situation. I got it fixed thank goodness. I am much happier, when you don't like your hair it is tough on you, not like I can wear a hat at work or anything so I'm glad that it is taken care of. Jason and I got to enjoy the nice weather last night and we cooked out for the first time on our own, that was nice. I had a couple pieces of chicken and Jason got his burgers. It was perfect weather yesterday that is for sure. Tonight is a rest and relaxation night. Tomorrow we are going to the Toledo Mud Hens game. They opened up yesterday in a 1-0 loss. We are excited to go, last year we went to quite a few of them and really enjoy them. They are very family oriented and just allow you to watch that good ole game of baseball and have a good time. I think that we might hit up Tony Packo's before the game and see what the hype is all about. Sunday, Jason is watching golf all day so I am thinking I might head down to Defiance for the day. So that is what is going on here for the weekend. Hope everyone has exciting plans! Take care.

Holy Blonde
Yeah so I was sick of my hair, I needed a root job and a trim. The girl I usually go to wasn't there, but I was in the mindset that I needed it done and wanted it done last night, so now to my dissatisfaction I went to someone new. As she started she was trying to figure out what I wanted, clue #1. Then she proceedes to tell me that she is still in high school! Yikes! I don't have much again young folks making something of themselves, but when it comes to coloring my hair I want someone who knows what they are doing. I have been looked down upon far too often because of my age in my short professional career, so I don't like to be judgemental but crap, I now have some blonde, I'm saying blonde highlights in my hair that I haven't seen for years. I haven't been this blonde since college and I thought I could handle it but the more I look at it the more I realize I don't like it. So, needless to say I'm heading back over tonight where hopefully my regular gal is there and can do some fixing up. Figures, I shouldn't have went against my better judgement, so wish me luck! Normally my mom and I have played kitchen beautician and we are the ones who screw it up and I can live with that, but not when I pay someone to do it and even when she took the color off, she was like oh is this what you normally get. Apparantly the stunning look on my face told her otherwise since she was like, a little more drastic than you are used to, yeah just a bit. Anyways, think I'm too old for this look so back to get more down to earth tonight. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday. Maybe I should just go back to my natural color? What is it again?

Old, Fat, and Out of Shape
The title describes my life these days, ha-ha. As you can tell I'm going back to the gym and back on the diet. Jason and I have our cruise coming up so that is a good motivator, I need all the help I can get. It is really tough though these days. Back in college, you could drink like a fish, go to class, then have all night to do meetings and stuff and still have enough time to workout sometime or another. Now it's work, home, puppy, house stuff, dinner, house stuff, packing lunches, house stuff, relaxation time, bed. Now sometimes working out just does not fit in the equation, but enough is enough I need to quit being a big butt and get to work. So, weight watchers is again the task at hand and I decided Mondays/Thursdays/Saturdays will be my workout days. That should leave me enough time to get the store and all that fun stuff that also needs to be done throughout the week, man they were right, growing up does suck :) In the midst of this, I need to start tanning, pretty bad when your mom makes fun of how pale you are. So, the point of this blog is to tell you all that you aren't alone and I feel your pain. I really have more time than I often like to admit I know this, I'm not as busy as I'd like to think, and I can "make time" for things, but sometimes it is pretty difficult, but I believe it can be done, so keep checking in to see how things are going or not going. I'm in a good mindset right now, so that is key! Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! Thought for the day, (i've posted this before, but it's funny enough to be posted again) EXERCISING IS LIKE HITTING YOURSELF IN THE HEAD WITH A HAMMER, IT FEELS SO GOOD WHEN YOU STOP!

Holy Leaves
Weekend wrap-up. Jason and I had quite an eventful weekend. All in all, pretty good. Friday night we watched a movie and relaxed a little bit. Saturday morning I headed down to Columbus with Tressel to visit Adam, Mary Beth, and Clark. Tressel did well on his first trip, he laid on the front seat and slept most of the time, he just wasn't sure what to think. He got along pretty well with Clark, they played ball for a little while and Tressel didn't try and bite him on Clark didn't try to bite Tressel so that was a good thing. Jason had a golf scramble, he said it was alright, little chillier than expected. He and Steve couldn't get loosened up so I don't think he ever did tell me his actual score :) Sunday was a fun day, as boasted by the title of this post, Jason and I did some extensive yard clean-up. This Raike raked the leaves up from the backyard quite a little task that is for sure. No one was living in the house during the fall so there was a bit of a mess. We ended up getting the garbage picked up and the leaves raked and bagged, by the time we finished bagging the leaves we were out of garbage bags and had at least 20 bags full of leaves/dirt/sticks/whatever else got raked up. So it is looking better but there is still a lot to do. That was the biggest thing though trying to get all the leaves picked up, so a good start anyways. We finished about 30 minutes ahead of the rain shower so that worked out perfectly. Jason watched Wrestle Mania last night and wasn't too impressed, I think probably right about now he is regretting getting home at midnight after watching a not too impressive pay per view. Hope everyone else had a good weekend. I have some pictures to post, but I can't find the usb for my camera, looking for it, will post pictures as soon as I find it. Take care all!
